Sprinkles Logo Design Brief
Ice cream. It is what we are about, and we want the logo to scream ice cream (see what I did there?)
Sprinkles is an ice cream shop with stores across the United States. We pride ourselves on the best tasting ice cream on the planet. We have won numerous awards for our taste and innovative flavours. We are like the Willy Wonka of ice cream.
For the logo, we require the text “Sprinkles” and then some icon or visual element to represent ice cream and sprinkle topping. We want bright, fun, and tasty!
Research and discovery show that there are many ice cream brands out there all catering for different audiences from children to luxury choice for adults. Many of these brands are product brand and not stores or chain stores. The brief tells that it is for stores around the USA, which will require that the logo scale and fit on many media’s such as Shop fronts, ice cream tubs, menus and stationery, as well as advertising online and TV.

The ideas for the ice cream were limited to tubs and cones as ice lollipops were not enough to fit within the brief. Few elements sketched of ice cream cones and a few of tubes.
Placing elements together seem to make the logo very large and hard to see on smaller scale situations, next the symbol were refined and made more simple. The final choice was to add just three colourful ice cream scopes and sprinkles.
Typography was where the bright and fun element came into play this gave a uniqueness to the brand.
It was a hard project; I found it hard to find ways to add all the requirements and fulfil the brief. Again the restrains of the challenge and the small amount of information from the client there was no real vision of the store’s style and deco or uniforms.
I would have loved to have spent more time on the project and tried other ideas as too fulfil the brief to its full potential.
