Abstract Portrait – Image Manipulation

Abstract Portrait a combination of four images to create a story around the portrait. Photo manipulation involves transforming or altering a photograph using various methods and techniques to achieve desired results.

You need to be able to balance the colours between all of the images. In this image, masking was involved in overlaying some of the images used in its construction. The main image of the man was made into a greyscale layer overlaying images so that the colour comes through.

It is a simple effect to complete once you have the image that you are aiming to achieve. Collecting and treating the other photos is key to this, practice and experimenting will glance at you see what will work.

Have a look at this image manipulation to see what you can create with just a few effects and combinations.

Acrylic Paint Image Manipulation 002

An acrylic paint effect in Adobe Photoshop using custom brushes, patterns and colour, with loads of stylistic effects and photoshop filters. Started with a high-quality stock portrait. Then I created three custom brushes to use for the paint effect and a background pattern.
